Our Story

Behind the Beads: A Cooperative in the Spirit of Ubuntu

Nanare Ushanga was born from the Ubuntu spirit of Stand Up Shout Out (SUSO), an international NGO empowering youth across Kenya. What began as nearly a dozen artisans beadworking together has grown into a cooperative selling as one — online and in store — lifting each other and sharing every profit fairly.

Each necklace, bag, and piece of decor you see here was crafted by hands that carry the wisdom of their grandmothers and the hope for their children, all sold through one unified shop.
